Re: NW Indiana, Chicago area qepHom?

>I'm thinking getting the people will be the hardest.

You're probably right.

I have always had very little success finding anyone in the area who was
interested. I have held a qepHom as an "open house" several years in a
row, and I have *never* gotten any response to the flyers I have posted in
bookstores or around the nearby college campus. I have never had anyone
contact me because they saw my qepHom announced in the newspaper or heard
it on the "community calendar" feature of the local radio station. Except
for one KLI member who twice drove 2 1/2 hours from Bloomington, the only
guests at my qepHommey have been curious co-workers.

But since you're closer to Chicago, there are likely to be more people
willing to travel to one you hold, assuming they find out about it. I
don't yet have a "qepHom Construction Kit" ready to give to you, but I do
have a page of tips at http://www.netusa1.net/~caanders/host-qephom.html
that you might want to read. Part of it has suggestions for how you can
get the word out.
