This is complicated because the military term "interceptor" has a very
specific meaning. It refers to an aircraft with the military role as being
front-line defense. It intercepts attack aircraft. It goes out from what it
is defending and intercepts it. That means it is a fighter designed to
fight fighters, while the fighters it is designed to fight are designed to
fight whatever it is the interceptor is defending, plus the interceptors,
of course. It gets complicated.
My understanding is that attack fighters tend to be built more for distance
and firepower while interceptors tend to be built more to be extremely
nimble with weapons very focussed on the task of bringing down a fighter at
great distance if possible or chasing it down if necessary. Most attack
fighters lack the thrust-to-weight ratio to fly straight up for more than a
few seconds. Most interceptors can do it until the run out of air or fuel.
That sort of thing.
Or maybe I'm just wrong again.
Anyway, we have {HIvDuj} for "attack fighter". Maybe {HubDuj} would work.
{Hub} is a noun as well as a verb, so "defense ship" makes sense.
And if the title goes to you personally and not your ship, {HubwI'} might
work. Or maybe {HubwI' vaQ}.
