It seems that <<Dan>> "occupy (militarily)" has a counterpart in Sindarin, where <<Dan>> means to "take, take possession of, take over." In that this is an extreme stretch of the imaginative powers of matching up languages, I doubt that it is a direct pun from MO. Xardana
