Re: veqlargh

: Oh, my, I might have a problem. I've seen the non-Klingon spelling
: of <veqlargh> done several ways in various publications. I know
: "Okrandian" canon is specific on spelling exactitude for tlhIngan Hol,
: but does "English" or Feddie standard (whatever...) allow for any
: flexibilty, you know, like a phonetic spelling of a tlhIngan pong when
: interpreted by <tera'gnan teSDu' QoghIj je>?.

Paramount spells it Fek'lhr, which is how it's spelled in the Okudas' _Star
Trek Encyclopedia" as well as on the Paramount's official ST: Continuum
site in the Klingon Compendium section.

: Otherwise I'm screwed. My ship name is <veqlargh ghop>, but KAG rules
: require the "Terran" spelling on all documentation. (like last season's
: Blood Feud trophy) On all of my costume "stuff" the pIcaD glyphs are
: okay, but all my Terran grafix might be mispelled.

While we're playing with ship names, instead of translating "Fek'lhr's
Hand" into tlhIngan Hol, how about using *klingonaase* on your KAG papers:
*Fek'lhrte kaase*. It would both be exotic and an hommage to John Ford's
classic - and IMHO still the best - Klingon novel _The Final Reflection_.
Also, I like the way it looks in print.

: pIl'o'
: HoD veqlargh ghop

{«veqlargh ghop» Hod} "captain of the 'Fek'lhr's Hand'"
