Re: Schoolbook

I've pitched the idea of a Klingon textbook to the powers at Pocket Books.
They seem somewhat interested in the idea, and open to discussion, but they
also want to work on one thing at a time with the KLI.

Thus, before we can "formally" move on this, we have to finish the deal
about HAMLET. Going through official channels is slow business, even at its
best.

There's been quite a bit of work (and more to be done) on revising the
original postal course, and using that revision as a basis for a new text.
Much praise is due to Andrew Strader and d'Armond Speers for their efforts,
and to David Barron as well for not only working on the revisions but
maintaining the original still, for all this time.

Way back in the first year of HolQeD (I think) we published an outline of
the lessons used in a college course on Klingon. I've picked up several
other people's attempts over the years. I have not seen what peHruS is
using (hint: Daniel, please send a copy my way for inclusion int he KLI's
Archive), but typically there's a great deal of overlap.

If and when the folks at Pocket Books ever come through on this, I'll let
you all know quite loudly.
