So, because an unrelated grammatical formulation doesn't work the same way,
this is a problem? Theories on the pseudo-suffix nature of {neH} are all
very nice, but you can't use them to support arguments about actual usage!

I've heard a couple. There are many alternatives.
"What do you want to eat?"
Soj DaneHbogh yIngu'.
Soj DaneHbogh yIDel.
Soj DaneHbogh yIpong.
Soj DaneHbogh yIwIv.
Soj DaneHbogh yIwuq.
DaH Soj yIwIv! tugh! bIje'be'chugh vaj bIHegh! ARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!
Different grammar requires different ways to say things. It just so happens
that this question in English must be a command in Klingon.
