qep'a' loSDIch -- * Update *--

I spent much of today working on the qep'a' loSDIch, driving around
Bensalem talking to many managers of different pizza restaurants.  When
that was done I went to the Comfort Inn in Bensalem to meet with their
business manager who is our contact for the qep'a'.

This is a good time to note that the individual with whom I originally set
up the conference last September is no longer with the motel.  Her
successor is no longer with the hotel.  The new contact began working there
in February.  Which meant that some of the things I'd gotten them to agree
to in principle (but which were never written down) have slipped away.  On
the other hand, the hotel has expanded some of their services, and we
inherit these under the agreement that we did have in writing, so it
probably balances out.

Now, here's the important news:

If you have not yet sent in your registration money for the qep'a' loSDIch,
the LAST day I can guarantee a room at the hotel is *June 16th*.  This is
one month before the opening day.  Reservations made after that date run
the risk of:

     a) costing more money (i.e., you won't be able to get the hotel room
        at the reduced conference rate)
or
     b) not being able to get the room at all because the hotel is sold out!

I cannot stress this enough, if you expect to come to the qep'a', I need to
have your money in before the 16th of June.  If you delay and I don't
receive it in the mail until the 17th, you're out of luck.  Period.
Nothing much I can do about it.

If you have a VISA or MasterCard you can charge your qep'a' registration
via the KLI's merchant page.  Even there, be sure to allow plenty of
advance time because every now and then someone's credit card doesn't clear
(for who knows what reason), and if that someone is you then you won't be
registered for the qep'a'.

Bottom line, if you're coming, you need to let me know right now.


In related news, either Mark or I will be posting additional qep'a'
information to this list in the days ahead, including a revised
"penultimate" schedule, and the banquet menu!
