KLI Volunteers needed

If you've been asking yourself "Hey, how can I become more involved in the
KLI" this message is for you. I'm looking for two or more people for the
following tasks:

1) ECP Coordinator
Way back when we first started the KLI one of our original projects was the
Extended Corpus Project (ECP). The goal was to create an ongoing database
of all words "intended" to be Klingon from non-Okrandian sources (though
primarily from the professional novels). Several KLI members have spent
time combing through various works of fiction finding and detailing the
occurence of one Klingon word or another, and sending all of their findings
to the project's coordinator. Unfortunately, through a series of events
all of these materials have been lost and the project's coordinator has
stepped down. We're basically back to square one.

Thus, the KLI is looking for both a new ECP coordinator, as well as other
members who will volunteer to thoroughly go through one or more works of
Trek fiction looking for Klingon references. Eventually, we'll have a
working database maintained on the KLI website showing all of the Klingon
terms found by the ECP. So, if you think you'd like to work on this
project, either as a contributor or possibly as the project coordinator,
send email to [email protected], and include the phrase "ECP Volunteer" in
the subject line.

2) Websearcher
As the world wide web grows, there are also growing opportunities to
advance the mission of the KLI. Several mini-projects keep popping up,
which require me to spend time surfing the web in search of particular
names, addresses, and other information (e.g., tracking down speciality
bookshops to carry HolQeD). Unfortunately, I can't spare the time to do
this, and so these mini-projects go undone. If you are very comfortable
with email and the web, and can spare five to ten hours a week helping the
KLI, send email to [email protected], and include the phrase "Websearch
Volunteer" in the subject, and I'll be happy to put you to work!

Thanks,

Lawrence
