Ack! You need to find the correct character to produce the single quote. I
can't read this! I'll try to reconstruct it, exactly as it would have been:
> SuvwI' qan tagh:
> (tagh SuvwI' qan: ?)
The second one is correct. The subject is the "old warrior," and so it must
go last.
> - pa' Subogh SuvwI' HoSghaj jIH.
Okay, you cannot use a suffix as an independent word. {-pa'} must go on the
verb.
Suboghpa' SuvwI' HoSghaj jIH.
Before all of you were born I was a powerful warrior.
You've missed the "years ago" part, which is {ben law'}. Timestamps like this
go at the beginning of the phrase.
ben law', Suboghpa', SuvwI' HoSghaj jIH.
> law' veSmey jISuvta' 'ej batlh jISuv!
The verb {law'} means "be many," and works just like any other verb being used
adjectivally. Put it after the noun it modifies. Also, remember that {veSmey
law'} is a plural, third-person object noun. You must use the correct verb
prefix on {Suv}:
veSmey law' vISuv 'ej batlh jISuv!
Notice that I took the {-ta'} off of {vISuv}. Since he's talking about the
time that he fought all these wars, he hadn't already finished them at that
time. Remember, the time context is {ben law'} and {Suboghpa'}. If you're
still unsure of this, refer back to TKD section 4.2.7.
> wa' may''a' jIqaw chu'.
Get that prefix right again (see the table on TKD page 33). Also, {-chu'} is
a verb suffix, and must be attached directly to the verb:
wa' may''a' vIqawchu'.
I remember one great battle clearly.
Remember, the {-'a'} suffix doesn't necessarily mean "big," it means that the
noun is more important and greater than it would be without the suffix. I
read {may''a'} as a "great battle," one which decided much. Very likely it
was big, yes, but that's not the main point.
> DIVI' wIQoj 'ej 'ejyo'waw' DIvI' *Deep Space 1* wIHIvta'.
Hmmm . . . I'm not sure if we can say {DIvI' wIQoj}. The TKD entry for {Qoj}
is "make war," not "make war against." To be safe, let's assume you cannot
say this. What you *can* do, however, is use {-vaD}.
DIvI'vaD maQojlI'.
We were at war against the Federation.
Using {-vaD} indicates that the Federation is the beneficiary of this action,
making war ("beneficiary" doesn't necessarily mean that it's something good).
Also, I used the suffix {-lI'} "in progress." The old warrior didn't make war
against the Federation as a single event, it was an ongoing thing, and, I
assume, it had a known stopping point (victory or defeat). This suffix is
also listed in TKD 4.2.7.
When using the word "Federation" as in "Federation Starbase," put it in front:
{DIvI' 'ejyo'waw'}.
For "Deep Space 1," you've made a good choice by keeping it untranslated, but
we can do this one. This has been discussed before, but I'd say {DIvI'
'ejyo'waw' tengchaH Hop wa'} "Federation Starbase Far Space Station One."
This is your choice, though.
DIvI'vaD wIQojlI' 'ej DIvI' 'ejyo'waw' tengchaH Hop wa' wIHIv.
We were making war against the Federation and we attacked the Federation
Starbase Deep Space One.
I removed the {-ta'} on {wIHIv} for the same reason as before.

Be sure to fix your quotes!
