*I* don't use it that way! I agree, {Hatlh} should refer to the countryside.
The problem is, we don't have many appropriate words for "nation" or
"country." We have {wo'} and {DIvI'}. There's also {puH} "land," though that
might be the same problem as {Hatlh}.
