300...?  Surely you meant to write 3000?  Usually 
the estimates vary around 4000-6000. There's list
of Earth's languages in speadsheet format available 
somewhere on the Web, but I don't have the URL handy.
(I'll dig it up if anyone wishes to have the list.)
