Now individuals can join the RealAudio broadcasting world!
You don't have to be a large company, or have a lot of money to serve
up real-time audio to Internet users. With the RealAudio Personal
Server, available for beta testing, you can do it right from your
desktop or personal Web page! Just imagine the possibilities, you can:
* Serve up greetings to anyone, anywhere
* Showcase your musical talents to the world
* Produce multimedia resumes
The RealAudio Personal Server supports two external streams, and one
local stream. This means that both you and two other people can listen
to sound clips concurrently, in real-time, without download delays.
The Personal Server runs on the Windows 95, Windows NT, and Mac OS
7.5.x platforms, and includes instant access to the RealAudio Encoder
for encoding audio files in RealAudio format. A graphical user
interface allows you to monitor who's listening and what they're
listening to.
The release version of the RealAudio Personal Server will have a
suggest retail price of $99.
What you need to beta test the RealAudio Personal Server:
* Multimedia PC running Windows 95, Windows NT, or Mac OS (NEW)
* Connectivity to a network that supports TCP/IP (Internet, dialup,
LAN)
* We recommend you read the Personal Server Technical Notes.
Beta Test Program Guidelines:
* Users must agree to comply with the Progressive Networks RealAudio
Personal Server License Agreement. You can review the license for
the PC version or Macintosh version now, or wait and read it
before you download the software.
* Users must agree to report product bugs and design flaws to
Progressive Networks via e-mail at [email protected].
If you agree to these guidelines, please complete an application and
get ready to speak to millions of Internet users with the RealAudio
Personal Server.
Note: If you were among the first 10,000 users who signed up for the
beta program you are entitled to download a free version of the final
release including electronic copies of the documentation. Those people
entitled to a free upgrade will be notified by e-mail when the product
is ready for download.
