More ideas:
If there was a period in Klingon history (pre-imperial) which used a 
mummification glyph this would indicate two things:
1. Klingons at some point prepared the dead (could sitting with the dead in 
DS9's "The Ship" be related to some residual ritual?)
2. The use of this one glyph could not be unique, therefore perhaps the 
Klingons used some form of hieroglyphics prior to the use of pIqaD. Perhaps
pIqaD is a derivative of these glyphs...perhaps a history of the Klingon
writing system is in order?
