Any amount of other snippets of corruption could happen. After all, Hebrew
"ya`akov" somehow managed to become /jeik@b/ (Jacob) in English. Ditto
most Biblical names. Who knows what the transliterators were thinking?
Aside from the truth of the matter (that the non-Maltz transliterations
were made by people who have no conception of tlhIngan Hol and think
consonant clusters and lots of apostrophes are cool), there's also the
likelihood that in the secondary world the transliterations were made by
different people at different times with no standard.
