Heh.  Yeah.  But you have to take care; those really are idioms, and you
don't know if they translate.  For instance, "I have seventeen years" DOES
work in French and Spanish, say, but it doesn't work in Hebrew or English
(well, many dialects of English).  I might just as well propose "cha'maH
chorgh DIS puqloD jIH" (literal translation of Hebrew, "I am a son of 28
years", though "man of" might be closer), but that would mystify
non-Hebrew-speakers out there.

Mind, I also sometimes muse things like this (e.g. can I say "?cha'
qelI'qam tIq" for "It is two kellicams long", based on Esperanto "gxi
longas du metrojn"), but you have to be careful to recognize such things as
idioms.
