Postscript fonts are in the format used by a laser printer that uses the
postscript language. A screen font that is bitmapped is attached for use in
the computer. When you print to the laser printer, the postscript font is
used.
Adobe's ATM is able to take the postscript font and make display fonts
(those used in the computer) on the fly at any size needed.
True type is generally cleaner to use, IMHO, as you only need to install
one font file and don't have to worry about the kind of printer you use or
other font-display resources.
