I believe Captain Krankor addressed this quite well in an issue of
HolQeD. Unfortunately, I do not have my issues with me (they remain better
preserved if I do not carry them in my briefcase). I may be mistaken, but I
believe his suggestion was the use of the suffix 'e', meaning "topic",
thusly:
> Now:
> yaS qIppu' puq the child hit the officer
> +bogh yaS qIppu'bogh puq ? the child who hit the officer
> ? the officer whom the child hit
yaS qIppu'bogh puq'e'
It proved to be an elegantly simple solution, and well suited to the
function of the suffix.
