Additional shipping charges are added as a function of your location and the merchandise ordered. Specifically, the total weight of your order is computed, and rounded up to the next whole ounce. Then, an "allowance," which depends on the shipping zone, is deducted, and a shipping cost is assessed on the remaining weight by the ounce.
