Klingon Extended Corpus Project

The Extended Corpus Project is an attempt to catalogue words attributed to Klingon from sources connected to Star Trek but not (necessarily) to tlhIngan Hol. Most of the words here are not properly part of the Klingon language as considered by speakers of the language (they even have sounds not in Klingon), but have been presented as instances of Klingon, both in otherwise authorized Star Trek sources (e.g., the hundreds of novels of Star Trek fiction), or unauthorized fan sources. The ECP was formed in the interests of completion and is an ongoing effort, one which (unlike most KLI projects) does not require extensive knowledge of the language. (n) Name of a Klingon Frigate that self destructed, rather than be captured, following an engagement with the USS Cyane and the US Reprisal. [SSF]

(n) Name of a Klingon "hunter-killer" class ship. The K'chss was defeated by the USS Tori during the Taal Tan Offensive. [SSF]
K'Daq
(proper name) Klingon member of the house of Vrag. [DOH2-AS p.259]
K'Ehleyr
(proper name) Formally Klingon ambassador to the Federation. K'Ehleyr was romantically involved with Worf resulting in a son, Alexander Rozhenko. [DOH1-AB p.25]
K'hanakh
(n) A class of Klingon Bird-of-Prey. They are smaller than the Akif or K'Tinga class ships, but they have a lot more firepower. [TRW p.47]
K'hanq
(proper name) Klingon information broker for Chancellor Gowron. He was killed by Gowron following a suspected Romulan assassination attempt. [TI2 p.210]
k'hartagh
(n) Reference to a sort of Klingon holy man; one who seeks peace in maintaining the balance between predator and prey. They are very common in Klingon nature preserves. [TR p.83]
K'hemren
(proper name) Klingon warrior of high caste from an old, distinguished house. He was responsible for setting the stage in an attempt to start a war between the Federation and the Romulans. [R3-S p.127]
K'kam
(proper name) Klingon warrior and scientist serving aboard the Kruge commanded by Captain K'Vada. K'kam was also a passionate mate of the Captain. [U p.59]
k'Kharis
(proper name) Great Klingon opera singer, a tenor. He was killed onstage, during his aria in X and Y, when the soprano declared a blood feud due to a salary dispute. There were three days of street fighting afterwards. [DM p.85]
K'Lan
(n) A Klingon warship of the KDF. Toq had served aboard it. [DI p.10]
K'lavut
(proper name) Klingon warrior and Captain of the IKS Vo'taq: a Klingon battlecruiser. Captain K'lavut ambushed the USS Gagarin and captured 28 of her crew before she was self destructed. [INOH p.10]
K'lotek
(proper name) Member of the Klingon High Council. K'lotek is old friends with Komor because they served together aboard a battlecruiser when they were young. Following the release of the Federation prisoners at Pao'la, K'lotek steps down from the High Council. [INOH p.96]

(n) Name of a Klingon battle skiff (frigate) that was damaged during an engagement with the USS Akitsu. [SSF]
K'luth
(n) Name of a weapon used to test the bravery of Klingon warriors. The K'luth counted down from 100 to 0 and then exploded in a neural disruption pattern over a 50' radius killing everything within that area. In reality, the K'luth was nothing more than a countdown timer used by Captain Picard to extract information from Gul Madred. [SOTL p.254]

(proper name) Klingon warrior from the House of qabSan. He began his service in the IKN aboard the IKS pIlmoH along the Romulan border. Transfered to the IKS ram'a' as a gunner along the Tholian border. Awarded the Token of the Mek'leth for outstanding service during the tegh poqet Crisis. Promoted to Captain and assigned to the Qabjech Exploratory Fleet. During his tour of duty in the QEF, he earned a promotion to Brigadier. He now serves as an instructor at the Academy. (proper name) Klingon warrior and grandfather of Klor. He married a human woman from a Federation world. [FFS p.18]

(proper name) Klingon warrior; father of Kang. [MBK2-C p.133]

(proper name) Klingon master of the bat'leth until, while demonstrating an overhead reverse thrust, he sneezed and decapitated himself. This caused the audience to burst into laughter, and K'Plok was immortalized as K'Plop, the greatest Klingon comedian ever known. [TI2 p.44]

(phrase) A Klingon term that means "Kahless's Hand". This phrase refers back to Kahless tying his hand to his command chair with his sash in order that none might say he fled before his crew/This is meant to show one's determination to die with one's ship or to show that one is not a coward. (n) Name given to the Klingon population of the northern continent on the homeworld. The Kamorh'dag consists mostly of influential families that have ruled the Empire for 10 generations. (proper name) Klingon warrior and Captain of a first line battleship. Captain Karox is part of a Klingon fleet assigned to the Trellisane system. Following the death of Fleet Leader Kaged, Karox signs an agreement with the Federation and the Romulans over Trellisane. [TTC p.142]

(proper name) Klingon warrior serving aboard the freighter "Falcon's Talon" under the command of Captaon Krot. [DH1: I p.212]
Karradh
(proper name) Klingon warrior and father of Kell. A member of the Kamorh'dag and is reported to have more information than the Emperor himself. Though now retired, he once was the Master of Security for the 2nd Fleet. He is a long time friend of Kalastra and his son Kiruc. He tricks Kiruc into arranging for the Emperor's grandson to be killed in order to advance Kell. [FOF p.27/30/31]

(proper name) A Klingon Emperor, successor to Vorn. [GL p.10]
Karsul
(proper name) Klingon warrior and second-in-command to Kor at the Taygeta system. Karsul attempted to form a coup aboard Kor's ship Klothos along with Captain Shibot. When it failed, Kor killed Karsul. [TOS p.56]
Kartade
(proper noun-place) Name of a forest on the Klingon Homeworld. [TFR p.53]
Karuk
(proper name) Klingon warrior serving as Second Officer aboard the Klingon attack cruiser HoS. (NOTE: In "Geneis Wave #2", Karuk's name is changed to Kurok, but no explaination is given by the author). [GW1 p.293]

(proper name) Klingon warrior; Captain of the Hakkarl Tazhat. A member of the Imperial race with the highest reputation. He dies when the Tazhat is destroyed by the malfunctioning Hakkarl with his hand tied to the command chair. [ROE p.40]

(n) A Klingon hand fighting posture: elbows up, knuckles extended, right hand coiled and poised to strike. It is traditional to cry the word "kave'ragh" before striking. [Ga p.9]

(proper name) Klingon warrior and Commander of the Klingon bird-of-prey M'Char. Cmdr Kaybok was executed on the authority of General Martok for failing to follow orders. [TWW p.19]

(proper name) Famous Klingon warrior who fought at the battle of Straker Dome: the crushing defeat of the Romulan invaders that ended the first war between the Klingons and the Romulans. [M3-I p.24]

(proper name) Klingon computer programmer. [Re p.137]
Kell
(proper name) Klingon warrior and son of Karradh. He served as 2nd officer aboard the battlecruiser Fragh'ka. He advanced to 1st officer following the death of Kernod in a "hunting accident" arranged by Karradh. [FOF p.31]
