    1. The first sentence implies I already know the words and just don't know which ones I will forget. While "I can't remember random words" means "I am unable to store in my head a list of unknown, unpredictable, words". It can be said in Klingon, but it becomes long and cumbersome.

      The second sentence works to a point, but, again, it's long and cumbersome, and isn't exactly what I want to talk about. Sometimes it's not about something trying to guess the numbers.

      The third sentence focuses on the lack of being able to predict the people, while the sentence I want focuses on the fact that I saw lots of different kinds of people, none of which I knew beforehand, nor which I could predict beforehand. Again, this can be said, descriptively, in Klingon, but as your examples show, it becomes long and cumbersome.

      I'd much rather be able to say something like DaHjaj nuvpu' *random vIleghpu' and mu'mey *random vIqawlaHbe'

  2. These certainly wouldn't be bad concepts to have. To me the first sentence implies the speaker tries to remember long-term but can't; that the information was known, if briefly and fleetingly, but then lost. The sense of 'random' numbers generated by a die involves no one outcome being more or less likely than any other, utterly at the whim of fate. Perhaps that sense should be distinct from unusually intense unpredictability and unfamiliarity.

  3. In English, the word "random" covers both "arbitrary" and "stochastic". I'm not sure that these are necessarily the same word in Klingon.

  4. Building on De'vIDs point, does anyone think some construct involving {ngang} might work, for the stochastic aspect anyway?
